WordPress Weekly Podcast Interview Tonight

For those of you tracking my every move, or just looking to get some questions answered by me, please head on over to the WordPress Weekly podcast tonight where I will be interviewed, questioned, poked and prodded for a minimum of one hour, starting at 9PM eastern.

Jeff, the host, plans on discussing a number of topics with me including but not limited to:

  • My work involving WordPress
  • How did BloggingPro begin. How did it go from nothing, to something.
  • Making money while blogging
  • Careers in blogging
  • Writing for and managing blog networks
  • Personal experiences using WordPress

I am looking forward to discussing these and other things tonight, and hope that some of you will show up to listen live, as well as ask any questions you may have for me.

For instructions on how to join the show, check out the information page that Jeff has put up, as it can be a bit confusing to use TalkShoe for the first time.

More of Me Podcasting: TechCanuck Episode 17

James and I haven’t done a TechCanuck podcast in a while, and so we were well overdue. We love working together on talking about technology, the web, and everything related to it.

Head on over to dailypixel to have a listen and let me know what you think.

Show Notes:
a) The rise of ad networks – Six Apart announces that they are morphing into Six Apart Media an advertising network for blog publishers and it will compete directly with Glam Media and Federated Media. Also, Glam cuts its rates and what does that mean for new players and how do players like Adify which is letting everyone roll their own advertising network like Forbes fit into the mix?

b) The Top 100 Global Brand rankings were just released and Google is the world’s #1 ranked brand. Coca-Cola which held that spot for many years has officially given way to a wave of technology companies. We discuss the trends.

c) Shyftr started a debate about how much of blogging content could be syndicated without upsetting the content creators. Is this a symptom of a larger issue – ie, is blog content a commodity, and if so, what is it worth in an era of aggregation and off-site conversation?

d) Microsoft-Yahoo, what the heck is going on here? Who has the most to lose if a deal isn’t consummated soon? We discuss.

It was definitely a fun episode, and while my mic quality seems to be a little low, I hope you will all enjoy it.

Puppy Kills Podcast

The title is only true for today. I was hoping to put up a new episode of the Xfep Podcast today, but we just got a new puppy. She is a black lab/husky mix and is only six weeks old. She is very afraid of everything, and as such, she is very dependent on me right now. It’s cute, but a bit tiring. I will be putting up a new episode on Monday, but hopefully I will have a chance to write up some new great content during the weekend, so keep checking back.

Thank you to all those that are checking out the podcast. I would love it if you would all leave some feedback on the length, quality, and content.

Xfep Podcast: Episode 11

Overview

Today I talk about blog designs. This podcast has some conflicting advice, but overall, I am pro having a custom theme if you can afford it and you know your site will be amazing right from the start, and against spending the money if you can’t afford it and are going to focus solely on growth through quality content.
